A resident of The Orange Lofts since 2004, Steve was ecstatic to see Loft 112 open in the same building. He came on board in 2014 to lead a workshop integrating visual art, drama and writing for student writers, and to co-produce the Warhol-inspired Factory 112 series for Loft 112.
A professional actor and arts educator, Steve has worked in theatre, film, museums and galleries across Canada, with a particular interest in the intersections of visual art, history and live performance. He has appeared onstage with professional theatres such as The Globe, The Citadel, Alberta Theatre Projects, Native Earth Performing Arts, The Banff Centre, Magnus Theatre, Concrete Theatre, Quest Theatre and The Centre for Indigenous Theatre. Steve has been the founding Artistic Director for two artist run professional theatre ensembles, Crazy Horse Theatre and Teatro Berdache.
As a museum educator, Steve has worked extensively across Canada with organizations as diverse as The Calgary Military Museums, The Art Gallery of Calgary, The Vancouver Art Gallery, The Glenbow Museum, Parks Canada, Kananaskis Country and Telus World of Science.
In 2010, Steve was commissioned to write an original performance piece, Les Fourberies de la Vérité, for the Canadian Museum of Civilization. It was the second time he was commissioned to write for the company, the first being in 2006 for the museums Acres of Dreams exhibition. In 2009, his work with the Montreal based installation The Factory Project was hailed as one of the year’s best theatre productions by the Montreal English Critics’ Circle.
